Teaser Book Review: The Revenge Of Seven. Book 5 Of The Lorien Legacies Will Be Released Next Week

Hi everyone,

The international bestselling young adult fiction series 'The Lorien Legacies', written by Pittacus Lore, continues next week with the release of a fifth book. The title, The Revenge of Seven, suggest that the novel will focus mainly on Lorien Guard Number Seven and her legacies in the never ending fight with the Mogadorians.

The Lorien Legacies The Revenge of Seven

|The Story So Far...|

Book 1: I am Number Four

Teenager John leads a life of hiding and constant escape. He isn't a normal human, but an alien from the planet Lorien. Together with ten other children, he fled to earth to hide from the Mogadorians, an invading and highly dangerous species. John is part of the Lorien Garde, that have extraordinary powers, so-called legacies, but when the kids arrive on earth, they split up to be safe from the enemies. The first book follows John (Number Four) how he finds a new home in Paradise/Ohio, blends in, befriends school nerd Sam and falls in love with a beautiful girl called Sarah. John discovers his legacies which attracts another member of the Garde, Number Six. John's new life is merely destroyed when the Mogadorians discover him and it comes to a final showdown when John defeats them and flees with Sam and Six.

Book 2: The Power of Six

John, Sam and Six are on the run and the search for the other remaining members of the Garde continues. They find the main basis of the Mogadorians and their leader, Setrakus Ra in the desert of New Mexico and get captured by the enemies. With their combined powers they can escape, but Sam is left behind and gets tortured by the Mogs. John and Six return to Paradise, only to find out that Sarah has betrayed them and seems to work for the Mogs and the government, which are both after the Lorien Garde. The book also introduces Marina, Number Seven, and her desperate attempts to find and join the others. She discovers her legacies, bonds with Number Ten and breaks free from the monastery where she is kept hiding. At the end of the book, Marina is reunited with Four and Six, fights the Mogadorians and together they continue their mission in finding the others.

Book 3: The Rise of Nine

Four, Six, Seven and Ten found each other and continue their search for the others. However, they split up, as John decides to return to the main basis to rescue Sam. John gets caught by the Mogs and finds Number Nine, who is also imprisoned. Together they can escape the basis and hide in Nine's apartment in Chicago. However, John decides to go back again to free Sam and surprisingly, also finds Sarah and Sam's dad captured at the basis. He frees both and they can escape. Six, Seven and Ten are meanwhile in Asia, where they are joined by Number Eight. A few fights with the Mogadorians later, everyone is reunited and find shelter in Chicago.

Book 4: The Fall of Five

The Garde is finally complete with Number Five and the training, to become stronger for battle, begins. However, Five seems to keep a secret from the others, so does Sam's dad who befriended a Mogadorian (Adam) whilst imprisoned at their basis. The book focuses mainly on the Garde and their growing powers, but also on the rising tensions amongst them. The highlight of the book is an attempt to destroy Setrakus Ra, but he takes possession of Number Ten and the Garde realises, that their powers are not strong enough to finally defeat him. They can just escape him, though Number Five turns out to be a traitor and kills Number Eight.

The lovely people at Penguin UK have kindly send me a copy of the new book to review, which is not out for another ten days. I'm so excited to start reading the 314 page long adventure and hope for some really shocking twists and turns in the story. The official press release reads the following:

The Lorien Legacies: The Revenge of Seven

The Garde have suffered the ultimate betrayal: Number Five has allied himself with the Mogadorians, killing Eight and helping the Mogs to abduct Ella (Number Ten) from the safe house. Now the fight for Earth's survival has just become that much more impossible. The Garde may not have time to mourn their fallen ally, but they'll make sure to avenge him. And help is at hand from the most unlikely of sources: Adam, a Mogadorian, has turned his back on his people. He might just be their lifeline, but are the Garde repeating past mistakes by putting their trust in him?

I'm so, so thrilled about starting the book tonight (after GBBO). I will keep you updated, so watch this space.
